Une vodka en 2026 à la Distillerie du Morbihan

Building on the success of its two London Dry Gins, both awarded in 2024 and 2025, the Distillerie du Morbihan is preparing to launch a premium vodka in 2026.

Let’s go back in time… just over two years ago.

It was in August 2023, after 18 months of preparation, that the Distillerie du Morbihan distilled its very first batch of London Dry Gin.

Gin56 was slowly distilled, and after several hours in our brand new 400-litre Arnold Holstein Still, custom-built for the distillery it finally found its way into its signature orange bottle and is presented to its first clients and distributors.

In June 2024 came the first pleasant surprise on the international stage: a bronze medal at the prestigious International Wine & Spirit Competition in London… a bronze that truly felt like gold.

In March 2025, after extensive work on sourcing botanicals, 
Algaïa was born and immediately entered the big leagues:

Gold at the Gin Guide Awards in London in May, 
Silver at the IWSC in London in June,
And gold again at the French Drinks Awards in Paris.

This ambitious project to launch the distillery was imagined by Claire and François Rychlewski.

It began as a personal challenge, the shared ambition to build a project together, alongside their professional activities.
It evolved into a full-time business when François took the leap in February to dedicate himself entirely to the distillery, supported by Claire, who remains closely involved in strategic decisions whilst continuing her full time work elsewhere. 

And since then?

The belief that a distillery’s value lies not only in doing one thing well but in daring to do more.

To expand our range, and because we wanted to create a spirit we personally enjoy (always responsibly!), the idea emerged to launch a high-quality vodka.

As with our gins, our vodka must meet one simple but demanding standard:
to be the one you can’t find anywhere else.

Easier said than done, our standards are high. We aim to craft a spirit that is precise, authentic, and instantly recognisable as bearing the Distillerie du Morbihan signature.

That’s our vision:
To imagine, distil, and bottle a vodka like no other.

We plan to release our vodka in March 2026, and we’re now seeking community support to help bring this project fully to life.

So, where do we stand and what remains to be done?

And of course, we’re working to ensure our vodka will be just as easy to find for our customers!

As with our first spirits, we focus on sourcing within France whenever possible.
That’s already the case for our base alcohol and most of our botanicals. 
It’s also true for our Saverglass bottles, which are Made in France and made from 80% recycled glass.
Continuing this environmentally conscious approach, all inks used are 100% organic and biodegradable.

Our new vodka will be a 100% Made in France product, from grain to glass. 🇫🇷

Although still young in the spirits market, the distillery is equipped with premium facilities allowing for complete production autonomy:

·       A 400 L Arnold Holstein still
·       2,000 L stainless steel tanks
·       A self-contained water filtration system
·       A semi-automatic bottling machine

What we still need to successfully complete our project:

A plate filtration system (Pall/Seitz type) with a variable-speed pump:
€7,000 (quote currently being validated with our suppliers)

Batch of bottles to be decorated – based on one pallet of 1,500 units:

Accessories and packaging materials (labels/cartons):
€2,500

But why a crowdfunding campaign?
Because cash flow is the lifeblood of any business… By reaching out to our network — and the networks beyond it — we can accelerate the development of our new spirit by several quarters, while also allowing the distillery to maintain its strong growth in the local spirits market.
